Copeland MP urges visitors to respect countryside 

Police are reminding all visitors to the Lake District National Park to respect local communities and the environment. 

The dumping of disposable barbecues, bottles, toilet waste and other litter has caused concern among communities over the weekend. 

Copeland MP welcomes Extended Job Retention Scheme

The MP for Copeland has welcomed a further boost for businesses and employees with an extension of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. 

Speaking in the Commons, Chancellor, Rishi Sunak announced that the scheme will now be extended until the end of October.

Trudy to host a ‘Virtual Saturday Chataway’

Trudy Harrison, the MP for Copeland will be taking calls from constituents this weekend during a ‘Virtual Saturday Chataway’.

On Saturday 16th May between 10am - 12pm, Trudy will speak with residents at her first ‘virtually’ based surgery.

The MP for Copeland has paid tribute to the British Army, thanking them for their support during a virtual visit to a Cumbria based Covid-19 test centre.

This week, the Mercia regiment received a video call from Trudy Harrison MP as they set up the remote testing facility.

The MP for Copeland is urging residents in Copeland to utilise the area’s Covid testing facilities following a Government announcement to widen capacity to include symptomatic people over the age of 65 and those required to travel for work.
