Trudy Harrison turned out to support a local motorbike group during a festive charity run last weekend.
The Copeland MP cheered on members of Whitehaven Motorbike Action Group on Sunday as they rode into Whitehaven after completing a Christmas run to collect donations of tinned food for families and individuals as well as for cats and dogs.
The group set off from Keswick's central car park, making stops in Cockermouth, and Maryport before arriving at Age UK in Whitehaven.
The donations collected along the route will be used in Christmas hampers by Age UK West Cumbria and Animal Concern.
Mrs Harrison, said: “It has been a fabulous afternoon, and all of the riders should be extremely proud of their efforts in helping to collect food donations for local charities in the run up to Christmas. I’m sure their kind donations will mean a great deal to the charities, individuals and pets that receive them.
“It’s always great to see local organisations supporting one another and I applaud everyone involved, especially those who braved the cold weather to take part.”
The Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) is volunteer led riders’ rights organisation, which has been working, to protect and promote motorcycling and riders since 1973.
Michael Armstrong, Chairman of the group, said: “It was a great turnout with sixty bikers joining us this year as well as our local MP. It's fantastic that local bikers can meet up with their MP and discuss face to face local and national issues relating to motorcycling.”
