Trudy Harrison has joined generations of families in Whitehaven to celebrate Grandparents Day.
Trudy joined families, grandparents, volunteers and staff from Age UK west Cumbria for a community walk along the harbour on Saturday.
The community event, organised by Age UK West Cumbria also included an afternoon tea, held at the charity’s head office in Whitehaven.
The event was part of the charities Community Connections project offering help and support to those who are feeling lonely or isolated.
Trudy Harrison, said: “I was delighted to take part in this year’s Age UK Grandparents walk. It was heart-warming to see so many families taking part and I applaud the hard work and efforts of all those involved in organising such a fantastic community event."
As part of their campaign to celebrate Grandparents Week, which runs from September 24 – October 2, the charity will also be holding an activities day at St Bridget’s Primary School in Egremont on September 27 as well as a colouring event at Eskdale Show on September 30.
