Some elections are just about local issues. But not this one. The national spotlight is on Copeland and rural Cumbria, and you have the power to send a message to the country.
That’s because at the moment, nothing is more important than making a success of Brexit.
The Prime Minister, Theresa May, has set out the Conservative Government’s clear plan to deliver what people in Copeland and rural Cumbria voted for and make a success of Brexit. A plan which will make Britain a fairer country
for ordinary working people by taking back control over our laws, our borders, and the number of people who come here from the European Union.
Labour have already said that this election is about Brexit. If they win, Jeremy Corbyn and the media will say that we don’t support Theresa May’s Brexit plan. Labour will think they can ignore and forget what we voted for at the EU Referendum in the same way that Labour MPs and Labour Councillors have ignored the need for better services, roads and infrastructure for far too long.
Conservative by-election candidate Trudy Harrison is giving her full backing to Theresa May’s plan to make a success of Brexit. And she has a 6-point plan that outlines her commitment to our local nuclear industry to secure new jobs and attract the investment our local services like the NHS need.
Trudy was born in Seascale and left school to work at Sellafield. Her aunt, uncle and seven cousins all continue to work there. Trudy raised her family in Whitehaven and now lives with her husband Keith and four daughters in Bootle. When the local primary school there, Captain Shaw’s, was under threat, Trudy helped to save it. She currently works as a project manager and in her spare time raises funds for community projects.
Trudy Harrison is Cumbrian through and through. She will make sure our voice is heard after being ignored and forgotten by Labour for so long.
