Improving Flood Prevention & Infrastructure

Transport

Our communities need better roads and better infrastructure.

Trudy will make sure that we aren’t forgotten and ignored like we have been by Labour for years. "I will work with local communities to improve the A595."

Being born and raised in Copeland, Trudy understands the need for better road, rail, mobile and internet connectivity to improve lives and livlihoods. A595 and rail upgrades, high-speed broadband and universal 4G coverage are vital, and Trudy will fight hard to deliver these promises.

Trudy has already welcomed Rt Hon Secretary of State for Transport, Chris Grayling who stated: "We will be going ahead with the next stage of developments of a bypass relief road for Whitehaven as part of what I think needs to be an ongoing program of improvements to this route."

Securing investment to prevent flooding in future is also essential and hundreds of local people have already backed Trudy's call for action – pledge your support at www.trudyharrison.co.uk/flooding. Trudy recently welcomed the Flood Minister, Therese Coffey to Copeland to meet with local flood action groups. Being a flood victim herself she knows how devastating the effects of flooding can be. Trudy will fight for resilience and river management.

Trudy Harrison's and the Conservatives Jobs and Infrastructure Plan for Copeland

Thursday, 26 January, 2017

Copeland has had Labour MPs and Labour Councils for years. They’ve failed to deliver the infrastructure and services we need. A vote for Labour again means we’ll just be ignored and forgotten again.
